The CX20752 and CX20754 comply with Intel HD Audio Specification 1.1, and their audio fidelity performance exceeds the premium logo requirements of Microsoft WLP 4.0 desktops and laptops. The two codecs feature two 24-bit stereo DACs with sampling frequencies up to 192 kHz and two 24-bit stereo analog-to-digital converters with sampling frequencies up to 96 kHz, both for multistreaming and real-time communication applications. Combining these hardware features with Conexant's patented Voice Processing Algorithms, the new codec provides the ideal solution for platforms that require Microsoft Lync and Skype certification.
The CX20752 and CX20754 integrate a stereo filterless Class D loudspeaker and patented common mode scrambling technology to drive 2W-rms per channel and 1% THD+N to 4 ohms. Devices and speakers can be protected by DC detection loads, high-pass filters, short circuits, current limits, temperature, and more.
The built-in 5-bandwidth hardware equalizer (EQ) and dynamic range control (DRC) optimize speaker sound without distortion, enabling a high-quality audio experience from the mobile PC's internal drive and operating system-independent speakers. Locking protection protects the speaker and microphone from hackers.
The ProCoustic Capless Headphone Driver produces a full range of frequency response that further eliminates external FETS to support headsets and headsets. Key command sensing enables direct control of headsets to third-party applications such as Skype, Media Player and iTunes. The PDM unit stream interface supports dual microphone array execution of two digital microphones.
Conexant's PopShield technology suppresses the state of the transition, including active DC compensation exemptions and innovative Vref acceleration plans. D3-Live allows external audio devices to play back through the internal speaker through full speaker frequency response compensation during system standby. This mode provides a loop from the stereo line input to the Class D speaker output, including EQ and DRC when the HD audio bus is off. The D3-Live external BOM is the lowest cost and requires no additional crystals to record the chip.
The CX20752 and CX20754 have D-Flex power management that exceeds Intel's ECR 15B requirements to maximize power savings and allow DAC, ADC, and amplifiers to sleep without power. The CX20754 adds an I2S audio interface for digital I/O docking stations, digital audio processing, or digital amplifiers for external audio equipment.
