LED lamps have become a staple in various industries, including automotive electronics, indoor and outdoor decoration, and advertising design, thanks to their long lifespan, high energy efficiency, vibrant colors, and fast lighting response. As the market demand for LEDs continues to grow rapidly, the entire LED industry chain has experienced significant expansion. With the technical barriers to LED production gradually lowering, numerous small and medium-sized enterprises have emerged, flooding the market with a wide range of products. After the initial phase of rapid growth, competition among companies has shifted from quantity to quality, making measurement and testing an increasingly important aspect for manufacturers.
So, what kind of support can RIGOL offer to users in this field? Below, we present a series of test and measurement solutions that span across the research, development, production, and application stages of the LED industry.

1. **Research on LED Luminescence Characteristics**
Universities, research institutes, and enterprise laboratories involved in LED technology often need to investigate the luminescent properties of LEDs. Two types of equipment are typically required for such studies:
- Optical measurement devices such as integrating spheres and spectrometers.
- Electrical measurement instruments.

The primary role of electrical measuring equipment is to provide a stable power source for LED lamps and a programmable driving waveform. In this field, RIGOL's DG3000 signal generator and its more advanced model, the DG5000, are widely used by engineers. A common configuration includes:
- The DG5072 function arbitrary waveform generator to produce PWM modulated waveforms. This device can generate signals ranging from 1 µHz to 50 MHz with a duty cycle adjustable from 0% to 100%.
- The PA1011 power amplifier to boost the PWM signal’s power, delivering up to 10W output.
- The DS2072A digital oscilloscope for observing various signal waveforms, including the driving signals.

2. **Development and Testing of LED Power Supplies**
As a traditional industry, power supplies are well-established. However, LED power supplies now face new challenges, particularly in terms of cost. Compared to conventional energy-saving lamps, LED lamps are significantly more expensive, and their light-emitting components and heat dissipation systems cannot be easily simplified. Therefore, many small and medium-sized companies aim to minimize the complexity of their power supply modules.
To address these needs, RIGOL has developed the "Ultra Power Analyzer" software for engineers working on power supply design. Combined with the RIGOL DS4000 digital oscilloscope and voltage/current probes, this setup enables comprehensive testing and analysis of power supply performance.
