Philips launched the EssentialLine line of LED road lighting solutions at the 2010 World Cities Summit (WCS) in Singapore. EssentialLine is Philips' new line of LED road lighting products designed to help urban planners adopt more efficient and environmentally friendly road lighting systems to improve the city's livability.
Today, urban life consumes 70% of the world's energy, and 15% of it consumes road lighting. In Asia, rapid economic growth and energy consumption have brought a new set of environmental issues to urban construction planners.
