Android iMessage that Apple has denied has secretly tested

According to a recent report, Tencent Digital News (Compiler: Rabbit) has already had an idea to test its iMessage communications service on the Android platform, regardless of whether the service can be launched in the end, at least in full compliance with Google's Material Design design style.

According to John Gruber of Daring Fireball, who quoted anonymous insiders, there is already a prototype of the Android version of iMessage installed inside Apple. In the iMessage design of the Android platform, Apple chose to maintain the same design style as Google's Material Design, and this is the third platform after the iOS and macOS, iMessage service exists.

However, John Gruber said that although Apple has begun testing, but the Android platform's iMessage may never officially released, but the internal prototype of the spread, at least that there is the possibility of release.

In fact, Apple’s former chief executive Steve Jobs said at the end of 2010 that Apple’s FaceTime video chat service will become an open standard and can be used on other platforms and integrated into other services. Of course, from now on, Joe's promise has not yet become a reality.

Gruber said FaceTime has not yet been open to other platforms due to various reasons, including patent litigation from VirnetX.

"So I don't think that FaceTime will one day become an open standard," Gruber said. "But Apple's attitude of developing its services to Android at least shows the possibility that iMessage will be opened, while open iMessage will not be subject to cross-platform regulations."

At the beginning of this year, there was an argument that Apple will launch the Android version of iMessage. However, Apple denied this rumor at the WWDC Global Developer Conference in June.

However, Apple's denial does not mean that it is impossible. Last year, Apple brought Apple Music Music subscription service to the Android platform, and also used Google's Material Design to design voice.
