In recent years, Ruian City in Zhejiang Province has been actively driving the intelligent transformation of its manufacturing sector. By establishing an innovative service platform for robotics and smart manufacturing, the city is promoting the integration of "robot+" across research and development, production, management, and services within enterprises, significantly enhancing the level of smart manufacturing. According to preliminary data from the Ruian City Economic and Trade Bureau, over the past three years, more than 30 companies have invested in purchasing over 500 industrial robots for tasks such as welding, painting, casting, and material handling. This shift has led to a substantial reduction in labor costs and a remarkable improvement in production efficiency.
One notable example is a production line where a single worker can manage four robots, completing work that previously required 30 employees. The introduction of automation has not only boosted productivity but also allowed workers to focus on more complex and value-added tasks.
On January 16, robots were seen transporting materials along the intelligent pallet line at Ruiming Group in Ruian City. At the same time, technical staff at Ryan Haishang Group were commissioning their own dual-armed collaborative robots, showcasing the growing adoption of advanced automation technologies.
In another part of the city, workers at Ruiming Group's intelligent casting unit were using robots to handle molten aluminum, creating cylinder head blanks with precision and efficiency. Meanwhile, engineers at Ryan Haishang Group were inspecting the eccentric shafts of reducers used in robot manufacturing, ensuring high-quality components.
Technicians from Shui On Haishang Group were also testing a self-developed six-joint small robot, highlighting the city's push toward local innovation in robotic technology. These developments reflect Ruian's commitment to building a smarter, more efficient, and competitive manufacturing industry.
