In recent years, Ruian City in Zhejiang Province has been actively advancing the intelligent transformation of its manufacturing sector. The city has established an innovative service platform focused on robotics and smart manufacturing, aiming to integrate "robot+" solutions across research and development, production, management, and service areas within enterprises. This initiative has significantly elevated the level of smart manufacturing in the region.
According to preliminary data from the Ruian City Economic and Trade Bureau, over the past three years, more than 30 companies in Ruian have invested in over 500 industrial robots for tasks such as welding, painting, casting, and material handling. These automated systems have drastically reduced labor costs while boosting productivity and efficiency.
One notable example is a production line where a single worker can manage four robots, completing work that previously required 30 employees. This shift not only streamlines operations but also enhances precision and consistency in manufacturing processes.
On January 16, at Ruiming Group's intelligent pallet line, robots were seen transporting materials efficiently, showcasing the integration of automation into daily workflows. Meanwhile, technical staff at Ryan Haishang Group were commissioning their own dual-armed collaborative robots, highlighting the growing trend of in-house robotic development.
In another part of the city, workers at Ruiming Group’s intelligent casting unit used robots to handle molten aluminum, producing cylinder head blanks with greater accuracy. Engineers at Ryan Haishang Group were also testing the eccentric shafts of reducers used in robot construction, ensuring high-quality components for their advanced machinery.
Additionally, technicians at Shui On Haishang Group were operating a self-developed six-joint small robot, demonstrating the city's commitment to innovation and local technological advancement. These developments reflect Ruian's broader strategy to lead in the era of smart manufacturing, combining cutting-edge technology with traditional industries to drive sustainable growth.
