Four new standard proposals such as thin-film module light attenuation test passed

SEMI upholds technical and standard banner services China's photovoltaic industry has made substantial progress. At the third meeting of the SEMI China Photovoltaic Standards Technical Committee held on August 10-11 at Tianwei New Energy, the thin-film photovoltaic module was attenuated Four photovoltaic standard proposals, such as the test method, were approved and set up, and correspondingly, three working groups were set up to implement the drafting of four new standards. More than 70 representatives from 33 units including SEMI headquarters, China Electronics Standardization Institute, Tianwei New Energy, Wuxi Suntech, and Jiangsu Zhongneng attended the conference.

Technology and standards are the weakest link in China's photovoltaic industry and one of the biggest constraints in China's photovoltaic manufacturing industry. During the period of development and transformation of China's photovoltaic industry, SEMI insisted on starting from technical standards and technology roadmaps, and pushed China's photovoltaic industry toward scientific and healthy development.

The four new standard proposals approved for establishment are:

1. Inductively coupled plasma spectrometry for the measurement of B, P, Fe, Al, and Ca in industrial silicon powders for photovoltaic polysilicon;

2. Determination of the total carbon content of silicon powder by infrared rays after burning in an induction furnace;

3. Thin film photovoltaic module light attenuation test method;

4. Anti-reflection coated glass.

The three approved standard working groups are:

1. PV silicon raw materials working group;

2. Thin Film Silicon Photovoltaic Module Working Group;

3. Anti-reflective coated glass working group.

Another new standard proposal that was submitted at the same time: Test methods for the performance of tandem thin-film modules have not been approved by the Commission because the technology is not universal.

In addition, the Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Module Working Group submitted two draft standard plans (Doc 5384: Technical Guidelines for Packaging Protection of Photovoltaic Modules, Doc. 5385: Test Method for VA Content in EVA for Photovoltaic Modules - Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)). When entering the sixth global voting session, it was not approved because the working group’s internal opinions did not reach a consensus.

At the conference, James Amono, Senior Director of SEMI Standards, gave an update on the latest developments in SEMI PV standards in North America, Europe, Japan, and Taiwan. SEMI China Photovoltaic Standards Technical Committee under the photovoltaic wafer working group, crystal silicon photovoltaic module working group, crystalline silicon solar cell metal slurry working group, polysilicon packaging materials working group, photovoltaic diffusion furnace testing method working group, respectively, introduced their respective The progress of the work includes the recruitment of members and the drafting of standards.

During the meeting, the participating core members also agreed with Zhang Weiming, vice president of technology of Heraeus, and Wu Zhenyu, technical director of Hanergy Holding Group Co., Ltd., as their core members to join the SEMI China Photovoltaic Standards Committee.

SEMI China Photovoltaic Standards Technical Committee The third meeting in 2012 The field SEMI has more than 30 years of practical experience in the field of international standards. More than 800 international standards have been widely used in many fields such as semiconductor manufacturing and flat panel display. At present, SEMI has more than 500 member companies engaged in photovoltaic business, and it has mastered key technologies from production equipment, raw materials, and battery manufacturing technologies, and has become an important force in promoting industrial development. The SEMI PV Group formed by these technology-led companies gathers important suppliers of solar photovoltaic industry materials and equipment and related services. It is dedicated to optimizing the industrial supply chain and bringing low-cost photovoltaic technology to the world. And continuous, clean energy supply
