Xinmin Science Cafe, jointly sponsored by Shanghai Association for Science and Technology and Xinmin Evening News, welcomed the 100th event last night. He Jingtang, chief designer of the China Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and dean of the School of Architecture of South China University of Technology, “deciphered†some of the little-known designs of the Eastern Crown.
According to him, the Chinese character "Chinese India", which is smashed by the Chinese pavilion, is engraved with the changed characters "East", "West", "South" and "North". They are actually a smart vent, solar cells on the roof and the outer wall, which can make the Chinese Pavilion lighting self-sufficient.
He Jingtang said that the design of the China Pavilion reveals the elements of traditional Chinese culture and the concept of sustainable development. In the selection of building materials, he put a lot of effort into it. After many comparisons, he decided to use the straight-grain metal plate as the exterior wall material, because it can reflect the Chinese culture, and the overall visual effect of the building is also very good. He said that in the Chinese pavilion, as long as you taste it, you will find some small details hidden in the building, which contains a lot of high-tech achievements.
For example, in addition to landscape design, the China Pavilion has added elements of circular self-cleaning. There is a rainwater collecting system on the roof, which can realize the recycling of rainwater, and use natural rainwater for greening and watering and road flushing.
It is reported that the 100th Xinmin Science Cafe held last night is also the first lecture of the "Expo Series". This year, there will be three health topics in Xinmin Science Café held in the French Pavilion of the Expo; “Romantic France, Lohas Midsummer Night†Sanofi-Avente Charity Concert is scheduled to be held in Shanghai on June 13th. The hall was hosted by the Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra and the mysterious French guests presented a romantic free performance.
