Grab the ground with Apple, Android will span TV, cars and watches

On June 25th, according to foreign media reports, at the Google I/O conference held this morning, Google’s Android showed ambition across multiple platforms, from the original mobile phones and tablets to cars, televisions and watches. Like other high-tech companies, Google has shown its strong interest in entering the Internet connected device space.

Google's Android operating system is used on more than three-quarters of smartphones worldwide. Although the operating system itself is free, it is not a loss-making business. This is a valuable mobile Internet portal that gives consumers more access to their money-making online services, such as web search and maps.

At its annual developer conference, the company said that cars running Android Auto will be available later this year with auto-navigation, music and messaging. The Automotive Development Alliance, which develops Android Auto, has signed cooperation agreements with more than 40 automotive companies. But Google doesn't say which cars will actually launch Android Auto in 2014.

Smart watches running Android Wear from Samsung and LG will be available later. Android Wear is a version tailored for wearables.

Google also demonstrated the workflow of Android TV. The purpose of Google's launch of this platform is to give viewers a simple interface to search and display content. Google has been interested in living room applications four years ago. Google TV has always been the direction of its efforts, but it has not been able to win the favor of consumers.

Sinha, an analyst at investment bank B.Rilay&CO, said, "This is a battle for a site. Whoever has a platform to control equipment is likely to gain a dominant position, not just a platform for equipment, but also a platform for everything in your home. The new platform offers new opportunities for hardware sales, ad sales and e-commerce sales."

Google also launched the Google Fit app, which organizes and tracks the health and personal fitness information of service users. Similar to the health and fitness apps recently launched by Apple and Samsung. Tracking and analysis of health information is expected to be a major driver of smart watches and other sensor devices.

The goal of Google's I/O conference is to accept new Android features for developers. These people ensure that the software they create can compete with Apple's iOS app, which is crucial.

Apple and Google are now focusing on emerging markets like India and China, where there is still room for smartphone growth, and markets like the US and Europe are saturated. At the conference, Google said it is working with three manufacturers to develop smartphones under $100, which will be available in the Indian market this fall.

At the "Android One" initiative, Google wants to get mobile phones into the hands of as many people around the world. This low-cost phone will feature a 4.5-inch screen and dual SIM card design.
