Analysis of Industrial Output Value of Household Appliance Industry in 2011

In 2011, the home appliance industry will fully break through its original level in terms of output, sales volume, and exports, reaching a new historical high. It is estimated that the total industrial output value of the industry in 2011 is expected to exceed 1.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 17% over the same period of last year.

The data shows that in 2011, the industrial output value was 1.07 trillion yuan, an increase of 17%, but it was down from the growth rate of nearly 31% in 2010, and was almost normal. The export value of the home appliance industry is expected to reach 47 billion US dollars, an increase of 17% over 2010. According to preliminary calculations, it is expected that the output of refrigerators in 2011 will reach 73 million units, an increase of 8% to 9%, and the output of air conditioners will reach 105 million units, an increase of 16.7%. It is expected that the washing machine will increase by 10%, and the electric water heater will increase by 33%. The microwave oven is the same as last year; the output of electric fans in small household appliances will increase by 9%, the vacuum cleaners will increase by 3%, and the electric cooker will increase by 8%.

In the past few years, China’s implementation of the policy of stimulating domestic demand has played an important role in the appliance industry’s response to the financial crisis. After the gradual withdrawal of the policy, the Home Appliances Association anticipates that China’s home appliance industry will continue to return to normal in 2012, and the increase in home appliance industry is expected to fall back to normal growth. The increase in exports will also drop back.

However, the upgrading of industrial institutions will still promote the development of the industry. The rise in rigid consumption in the household appliances market, the construction of affordable housing, and the decline in raw materials will all maintain the growth of the industry.
