Mainstream products in the domestic market still rely on imports


At present, there are many high-power LED brands sold in the domestic market, and the quality is also uneven. In general, Cree and Lumileds products are still representative of high-end products, and Cree products are stable due to complete product lines. And become the mainstream of high-end products.


Taiwan's products occupy a considerable proportion of the mainland's high-power LED market . In addition to the products of giants such as Shunhong, Advanced, and Addison, the products of second-tier manufacturers such as Yanjing and Haotian are also sold. Due to the high cost performance of Taiwanese products, it accounts for the vast majority of high-end products.


Many domestic companies can compete with the world's first-tier manufacturers in terms of packaging technology. The high-power LEDs with imported chip packages have great comparative advantages, and the prices are gradually aligned with Taiwan products. However, high-power LEDs using domestic chip packaging are still mainly concentrated in the low-end market. Domestic high-power chips are still the main obstacle to improving domestic high-power LEDs.


Mainstream product LED price decline gradually reduced


At present, the market price of 1W white LED products with 70-90ml luminous flux produced by Cree is basically maintained at around RMB 17 yuan. The price of Lumileds products of the same type is around RMB 19-21. The price of Taiwan 1W white LED (light flux 70-80ml) From 10 yuan to 15 yuan, the price of high-power LEDs imported from domestic chips is in line with Taiwan's products. The price of fully-powered high-power LEDs (50-60ml) is about 5.50 yuan.


Since 2003, the application of high-power LEDs has been gradually pushed forward, and the price has also been greatly reduced. In comparison with white LEDs with a power of 1W, the price per piece was $5-6 in 2003, down to $2-3 in 2007, and the light efficiency increased from 30lm/W to 70-80lm/W in 2007. . However, compared to the single price of 1W white LED from 2007 to the present, it is still maintained at 2-3 dollars, the difference is that the light efficiency has increased to 80-90lm/W.


At present, there are a large number of manufacturers that are capable of supplying white LED power chips and LED devices in large quantities, which are still limited to Lumileds, Cree, Osram, Nichia and Taiwan's crystal power, accompanied by the rapid growth of power white LED applications and their luminous effects. Constantly improving, it is expected that the price of a single LED will not be excessively reduced.


Cost is still the biggest obstacle to replacing traditional lighting with LED


Lighting is the most attractive application area for LEDs, and cost issues are critical to replacing traditional lighting with LEDs. Although the price of LEDs is not as high as that of traditional lamps, and the cost of replacement and maintenance for later use can be saved, the initial cost is often directly subject to the purchase budget. Philips believes that the main bottleneck affecting current LED applications is that lumens are 10 times higher than traditional lighting sources. Therefore, the light extraction efficiency should be increased to 150 lm/W, and the drive current should be increased from 700 mA to 2 A. At the same time, the cost of the die and package should be reduced by half, so that it can be widely used in the field of illumination.


Lighting puts new demands on high-power LEDs


With the deepening of LED applications, many new requirements have been put forward for high-power LEDs. Only by meeting these new requirements, LED lighting applications can truly achieve greater breakthroughs.


Modularity Through the interconnection of multiple LED lights (or modules), a good lumen output stack can be achieved to meet the requirements of high brightness illumination. Through modular technology, multiple point light sources or LED modules can be combined in a random shape to meet the lighting requirements of different fields.


Maximize system efficiency Do not simply emphasize certain "hard indicators" of LEDs, such as brightness, life, etc., but should highlight its function in practical applications. In order to improve the light-emitting efficiency of LED lamps, in addition to the need for suitable LED power supplies, efficient heat dissipation structures and processes must be employed, as well as optimized internal/external optical design to improve overall system efficiency.


Easy to replace and maintain Due to the long life of the LED light source and low maintenance cost, it puts high requirements on the package reliability of the LED lamp. LED luminaire designs are required to be easily modified to accommodate future more efficient LED chip packaging requirements and require interchangeability of LED chips.


More attention to light color, color, life, stability and other performance evaluation of a light source, generally requires the following several characteristics: power, light efficiency, light characteristics, price, etc. for comparative analysis. In the early stage of LED development, people pay more attention to the improvement of high-power LED light efficiency and the decline of price. The product research and development of each production enterprise mainly focuses on these two indicators for research and development and promotion. As commercial power LEDs far exceed incandescent lamps in luminous efficiency, and exceed the efficacy of ordinary fluorescent lamps and compact fluorescent lamps, the price has dropped to a relatively acceptable level, and the application of high-power LEDs has become more and more widespread, only luminous effects. The increase and price drop are far from meeting the needs of the application. Development forecast of power LED technical indicators In 2008, the Japan LED Lighting Promotion Association (JLEDS) disclosed the blueprint for the development of high-power white LEDs for lighting appliances, and proposed white light ordinary products (high efficiency type) and high color rendering products. According to the target, the luminous efficiency is expected to reach 150 lm/W around 2015. In 2010, it is expected to reach about 130 lm/W, 120 lm/W and 90 lm/W or more. In 2015, it is expected to reach 160 lm/W or more, 140 lm/W or more and 130 lm/W, respectively.


According to the technological progress made by LED this year, the above predictions are very likely to be completed ahead of schedule. For example, CREE has announced that its laboratory level of white LEDs has reached 157 lm/W, and its 102 lm/W products will soon be mass-produced.
