Texas Instruments (TI) today announced a complete system-level solution to simplify the development of digital video products for customers. The solution includes a free optimized software codec package software product and several production-grade digital media processors based on DaVinciTM technology. With a simple self-service software certification program, customers who design with DaVinci technology can easily access a full suite of audio and video development software packages that can be easily integrated into a variety of video applications.

Free audio and video codec package software • TMS320DM355 codec package software: In addition to the video codecs already included with the DM355 processor, developers can also use this integrated MP3, WMA, MPEG-4 AAC LC and echo cancellation The technology's audio codec suite software enhances the audio performance of its design.
• TMS320DM643x Codec Suite Software: Developers can use the DM643x processor to develop low-cost digital media applications such as in-flight entertainment systems, machine vision systems and robotics, and easily use companion software, including the Web Developer's Kit (TCP/ IP Stack), H.264 Base Profile (BP), MPEG-4 Simple Profile (SP), MPEG-2 decoder, JPEG, and G.711 codec.
• TMS320DM644x Codec Suite Software: This package includes MPEG-4 SP, MPEG-2 decoder, JPEG and G.711 codec, enabling developers based on the DM644x processor to easily integrate video functions In digital video equipment such as video telephony, in-vehicle infotainment products, and streaming media applications.
• TMS320DM646x Codec Suite Software: Designers using DM646x processor-based products can take advantage of this G.711, H.264 BP, MPEG-2 decoder and JPEG package software for HD (HD) Technology challenges the enterprise and personal user markets, such as media gateways, digital media adapters, digital video cameras (DVRs), and IP set-top boxes.
• TMS320DM647 and TMS320DM648 codec package software: This product is designed for developers who use high-performance digital signal processors (DSPs) to design multi-channel video applications, including web developer kits, H.264 BP, MPEG-4 SP, and G .711 codec and so on.

Easy-to-use software Designers can deliver more powerful capabilities for digital video endpoints through a flexible, simple and fully optimized software framework that includes the eXpressDSPTM Digital Media (xDM) standard codec. Similar video, video, and voice signals conforming to the xDM standard can be exchanged at the application layer without modification. For example, when designing a video security application that supports transcoding and multiple codecs, designers can easily implement codec interchange without having to rewrite application code while still using the same platform to manage Complex SoC design. By leveraging a rich and easy-to-use software library, designers can streamline product development, accelerate design, and focus on higher levels of design innovation.

After registering the software, developers can browse TI's full range of certified software and use TI's digital media software directly. TI will continue to announce its latest software release, making it easy for designers to manage software updates and upgrades and re-register as needed.

Mass production of digital media processors Several digital media processors based on DaVinci technology are now in volume production.
• System-on-a-chip (SoC) products consisting of TI's TMS320C64x+TM DSP core, ARM® processor, and various accelerators. This includes processors such as TMS320DM6441, TMS320DM6443, TMS320DM6446, and DM6467.
• Pure DSP devices for automotive vision, video security, and video telephony applications. This includes processors such as TMS320DM6431, TMS320DM6433, TMS320DM6435, TMS320DM6437, DM647, and DM648.
