Shenzhen LED business community actively responded to the US 337 investigation

The LED company held the “Shenzhen LED International Sourcing Fair”, and the big international buyers threw large orders to Shenzhen enterprises.
Not long ago, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) launched a “337 investigation” on light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The four Chinese companies involved in the 337 investigation were all Guangdong enterprises, and three of them were Shenzhen enterprises. Although the international purchasing giant has not weakened the enthusiasm for the purchase of LED products in Shenzhen, the Shenzhen LED business community is still in danger, and issued a call for the joint response of Chinese LED companies.
Actively responding to the US 337 investigation In March of this year, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) launched a “337 investigation” on light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The “337 investigations” involved a very large range of companies, including LG Electronics, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Sharp and other internationally renowned brands are on the list, while China's four manufacturers are Chaoyi Optoelectronics, Jiaguang Electronics, Zhoulei Electronics and Guangzhou Hongli Optoelectronics. The top three are Shenzhen enterprises.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce, in 2007, China's LED industry exported about US$350 million to the US, a year-on-year increase of 53.9%. The Ministry of Commerce urgently notes relevant enterprises and industry associations, pointing out that this is the fifth "337 investigation" application that Chinese enterprises have encountered this year. If Chinese enterprises are finally found guilty of infringement of patent rights, and US ITC finally issues a general exclusion order for China's products, during the validity period of the plaintiff's patent, LED products produced by any enterprise in China and downstream products containing LEDs will be completely banned from exporting to the United States. Therefore, the impact of the case on China's LED industry and downstream industries is very intense. After learning about the progress of the case, National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance organized the alliance patent pool working group, industry technical experts and patent attorneys to analyze the patents involved in the “337 Investigation” case.
At the LED International Purchasing Fair, Shenzhen Zhouming Electronics Co., Ltd. (formerly known as Zhou Lei Electronics) Zeng Guangming, general manager of the LED lighting division introduced the response. At present, Shenzhen Zhouming and Guangzhou Hongli Optoelectronics jointly responded in the industry. Under the organization and leadership of the alliance, two senior law firms in China and the United States were commissioned to make non-infringement defenses, and they are still in the defense stage. Zeng Guangming called on Chinese LED companies to unite to respond, while paying attention to intellectual property protection and strengthening patent research.
As the organizer of the procurement conference, Global Market Group actively supports relevant LED companies to cope with the US 337 investigation.
International giants do not reduce purchasing enthusiasm According to relevant sources, there are currently 1,700 companies related to the LED industry chain in China, of which 740 are mainly LCD backlights and solar energy, and most of these enterprises are in Shenzhen. It accounts for 44.3% of similar enterprises in the country. The design and quality of Shenzhen LED products are still attractive, and won the favor of the European and American markets. Although three companies in Shenzhen were investigated by the US 337, the complaint did not affect the enthusiasm of international giants to purchase Chinese LED products.
The Global Market Group, in conjunction with Home Depot, Philips, Berman, Osram, Interlake, Wis elite, and other six international sourcing giants, as well as some small and medium-sized foreign buyers, conducted face-to-face purchase negotiations with LED companies in Shenzhen. The atmosphere was lively.
The international buyers who attended this meeting have a strong lineup. The Home Depot, the world's largest furniture and building retailer, purchases about $100 million a year from LED bulbs in China. This time, Home Depot Purchasing Service Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Shenzhen Branch needs to purchase 4 types of LED Light cups, each Model products are planned to purchase about 50,000. Philips Home Lighting Shenzhen Co., Ltd. has placed orders for LED lighting accessories. One of Europe's most professional lighting buyers, Germany Berman, has purchased more than US$20 million annually in China. The products purchased this time are LED furniture lamps.
Shenzhen LED products are competitive In order to get big orders from these international buyers, Shenzhen Zhouming Electronics, Lai Yidi Optoelectronics and other nearly 100 Shenzhen enterprises as well as Dongguan Lighting, Huizhou Chaoba, Huizhou Qianli Lighting, Guangzhou Hongliguang, etc. Representatives from enterprises in the surrounding areas participated actively. A Shenzhen supplier who asked not to be named said: "The United States is increasingly using the 337 survey to create barriers to Chinese goods. The real purpose is not to protect intellectual property rights, but to protect its market share. So many international buys The purchase of LED products from Shenzhen is a good example of the competitiveness of LED products manufactured in Shenzhen. Many participating companies expressed their determination to make 'Made in China' a quality sign, so that international buyers have more confidence in Chinese suppliers. I believe that Chinese LED products will become more and more competitive internationally."
