I recently encountered an issue with the Skyworth LCD TV model 37L02. The main symptom was a red light during boot, but the power supply voltages (5V, 12V, and 24V) were all normal. There was no visible bulging on the electrolytic capacitors, and the ON voltage measured at 3.3V. At first, I thought it might be a data error or a software glitch. After some research online, I found that this is actually a known issue with the 37L02 model.
The root cause of the problem turned out to be related to the shielding box. Under the screen cable, there was a white glue point, which is commonly used for insulation or sealing in Skyworth motherboards. Upon closer inspection, the resistor marked as R252 was found to be faulty. It was supposed to have a resistance of 100 ohms, but when I tested it, the reading was infinite, indicating an open circuit.
Replacing R252 resolved the issue. However, if you don’t have access to an appliance repair forum or parts supplier, finding a replacement resistor like R252 can be quite challenging. I'm still not exactly sure what the white glue on Skyworth motherboards is made of or its exact purpose, but it seems to play a role in some common failure points.
This experience taught me the importance of checking both visible components and hidden areas like the shielding box. It also highlighted how some issues are more common than they seem, and how sharing knowledge online can help others avoid similar problems.
