I recently encountered an issue with the Skyworth LCD TV model 37L02. The main symptom was a red light on startup, and after checking, the power supply voltages (5V, 12V, 24V) were all normal. There was no bulging of electrolytic capacitors, and the ON voltage was 3.3V. At first, I thought it might be a software or data error. After searching online, I found that this is a common problem with the 37L02 model.
The fault point was identified in the shielding box area. There was a white glue spot under the screen cable, and upon closer inspection, the resistor marked R252 was found to be faulty. According to the schematic, R252 should have a resistance of 100 ohms, but when I measured it, it showed infinite resistance. Replacing this resistor resolved the issue.
It’s interesting how some manufacturers use white glue as a kind of sealant or for insulation purposes. I’m not exactly sure why Skyworth uses it, but it definitely plays a role in the circuit's stability. If you don’t have access to a repair forum or parts database, finding a resistor like R252 can be quite challenging. This experience taught me the importance of checking every small component, even if it seems insignificant at first glance.
