Qualcomm and Zhongke Chuangda jointly established the Intelligent Networked Automotive Collaborative Innovation Lab

On October 10, 2017, the Chongqing Yubei District People's Government, Qualcomm, and Zhongke Chuangda Software Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of cooperation to establish the **Qualcomm Intelligent Networked Automotive Collaborative Innovation Lab**. This initiative aims to drive the development of China’s intelligent connected vehicle industry by creating an open and innovative platform for research and technological advancement. The lab will serve as the first project under the Chongqing Smart Vehicle Collaborative Innovation Institute, marking a significant step forward in the region’s smart mobility ecosystem. The signing ceremony was attended by Wu Cunrong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor, Meng Pu, Chairman of Qualcomm China, Zhao Hongfei, Chairman of Zhongke Chuangda, and Zengqiang, CEO of the company. Their presence highlighted the importance of this collaboration in shaping the future of intelligent transportation. Chongqing, a major economic hub in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, is home to large industrial clusters such as electronics, automotive manufacturing, and equipment production. Yubei District, as the city’s largest automobile manufacturing base, plays a crucial role in the region’s smart vehicle development. With support from the Chongqing Municipal Government, Yubei District and Zhongke Chuangda are working together to build the Smart Vehicle Collaborative Innovation Research Institute, aiming to attract global leaders in intelligent networked vehicles and foster innovation. As a founding member, Qualcomm is actively involved in the institute’s laboratory construction. The "Qualcomm Intelligent Networked Automotive Collaborative Innovation Lab" will be set up in Xiantao Data Valley, leveraging Qualcomm’s strong R&D capabilities to focus on areas like smart cockpits, operating systems, UI/UE design, and security. Zhongke Chuangda, a global leader in intelligent terminal platform technology, will provide solutions based on Qualcomm’s platforms, further enhancing the lab’s research potential. In addition to the automotive lab, Qualcomm also signed a memorandum with the Chongqing Economic Development Zone Management Committee and Zhongke Chuangda to establish the **Chongqing Economic Development Zone • Qualcomm Smart IoT Joint Innovation Center**. This center will include an innovation lab and a demonstration area, offering technical assessments, R&D guidance, and testing services to help local enterprises accelerate their development in smart terminals and IoT industries. Wu Cunrong emphasized that Chongqing will fully support the growth of Qualcomm and Zhongke Chuangda, working together to expand the AI and information service market and achieve mutual benefits. He expressed hope that these projects would soon be operational, boosting Chongqing’s innovation in IoT and automotive electronics and driving the development of key emerging industries. Meng Pu, Chairman of Qualcomm China, noted that China is becoming a central player in the global IoT and intelligent development wave. He praised Chongqing as one of the most promising cities in western China and expressed enthusiasm about deepening collaboration with local partners to shape the future of smart connected experiences. Zhao Hongfei, Chairman of Zhongke Chuangda, highlighted the growing opportunities in Chongqing’s strategic emerging industries, including IoT and smart cars. He stressed the company’s commitment to leveraging Chongqing’s industrial clusters and Qualcomm’s cutting-edge technologies to create superior smart connected experiences for global consumers.
