LED saves 90% of electricity compared to incandescent lamps
Moderator: If the traditional light bulbs are replaced with LED lights made of semiconductor materials, how much will it save us in terms of energy saving?
Qi Jun: In terms of the effect of lighting energy saving, China now has 300 billion kWh of lighting power per year. We have calculated that if we can replace 30%% of traditional lighting, we should save 60 billion kWh of electricity every year. By 2015, we believe that it will save 200 billion kWh with the improvement of technology.
Moderator: How much power will there be compared to the original?
Qi Jun: Compared with incandescent lamps, it can save 90% of electricity and 50% of electricity compared with fluorescent lamps. It should be said that this is a very potential energy-saving industry.
