"Free traffic" product flooding

Up to 8 devices can be connected.†The merchant said that the mobile phone traffic is based on the server terminal, enabling remote acceptance of the network, without any traffic and charges in the card. .
The second product is "unlimited traffic software", the price is only 1 yuan. According to the introduction, the seller will give the buyer account and password. The software may need to consume about 50KB of mobile phone package traffic every time you log in or connect. The mobile phone's own software allows a small amount of traffic in the background. One seller said: "Our company cooperates with mobile, contracted monthly traffic and traffic pool, through our company's technology development traffic distribution system, to achieve unlimited use of traffic."
In addition, there are also businesses selling "free brush flow tutorial", the price is 9.9 yuan. On the store's page, there is not much introduction about the product. It only says: “The shop has cooperated with the studio. The success rate of the new tutorials obtained from the studio is over 99%. The tutorial will be updated from time to time. No further fees will be charged, and one purchase will be used forever.†Since the customer service has not responded, the Beijing Business Daily reporter has no way of knowing how this free brush flow tutorial is used. The store's comment area shows that no matter whether it is a mobile phone, software or a tutorial, there are not a few consumers who buy it. However, some of the comments are “easy to useâ€, and some consumers say that the merchant is a “swindler†and the product cannot be used.
Drill operator vulnerability
When you first saw these products, you would be mistaken for these kinds of products to be produced by the merchants and operators. The Beijing Business Daily reporter made a verification to the relevant person in charge of China Mobile. The person in charge pointed out that China Mobile has never had such a business. The relevant person in charge of China Telecom told the Beijing Business Daily that the so-called “free unlimited traffic†was illegally stolen from the operators. That is, the relevant technical personnel drilled the vulnerability of the operator "free directed traffic".
It is understood that in order to improve the service for operators, operators have always had free directed traffic. A large number of Internet companies cooperate with operators, and both parties share the cost of traffic, giving users a targeted traffic-free service for designated services. Operators can not only improve the user's mobile Internet experience and mobile network stickiness, but also increase traffic access, form user traffic habits, and then bring revenues on services such as paid content.
In order to avoid loopholes and risks, operators will clearly distinguish whether users are using traffic-free services or accessing Internet services normally. Generally, the operator adds the IP address of the server of the streaming-free service to the whitelist. When accessing the whitelisted URL, the user can access the Internet with free traffic, access is not billed, and even to simplify the maintenance complexity, the label authentication is performed directly.
However, such a way has been turned into a tool for profit by illegal traders. According to the technical staff, traffic sellers only need to apply for a VPS cloud host on the Internet, set up a virtual private network server (VPN), and then through uncomplicated camouflage, the operator can think that the traffic of this VPN request is A traffic-free website from the carrier. In this way, the VPN traffic they control becomes the one that the operator pays. Thereafter, by controlling the account rights of the VPN, the traffic reseller can sell the operator's "free traffic" to the user at a low price.
Losing hundreds of millions per year
Last year, the domestic vulnerability reporting platform, Wuyun, announced that in order to provide convenience to customers, operators set up a whitelist of free traffic charges. When the billing system detects that the user is accessing the whitelisted web address or receiving the multimedia message, it will not Deductions are made, and if the loopholes are expanded, the operator will lose too much.
Some insiders of the operator told the Beijing Business Daily that this situation is actually a loophole in billing instructions or billing information. Some people modify the billing instructions in the process of transmitting information, and the wrong commands are sent to the billing system. However, some experts believe that the “free traffic†gray industrial chain has formed a scale, and it will continue to develop at such a speed. It is reported that Beijing Unicom has revised the billing model to shield some of the current directional traffic exemption schemes, and other operators have also launched a comprehensive filtering and troubleshooting of this service.
