Comparing foreign products

In 2003, this product that won the second prize for national scientific progress was deployed in the “Centralization” project of Hua Xia Bank. In each key production system, an efficient and reliable trading channel from outlets and branch lines to head office data centers was constructed, and the daily trading volume exceeded 600,000 pens.

It is understood that Hua Xia Bank applied Dongfangtong's TongEASY, TongGTP, TongLINK/Q and other products to cover more than 950 nodes of 69 application systems of the total branch. According to statistics, compared to the use of similar foreign products, Huaxia Bank has saved at least 140 million yuan from domestic middleware products. This figure is very impressive. A domestic basic software product can be obtained in such a large-scale centralized application in the core system of a nationwide joint-stock bank, once again demonstrating that the level of domestically produced middleware has achieved comparable strength to foreign products.

Yu Feng revealed that although most commercial banks chose most foreign products of the same type at the time, Huaxia Bank insisted on the use of Dongfangtong TongEASY products. This is not only based on domestically controlled and independent considerations, but also because of cost-effectiveness. It now appears that the original choice was very rare. Domestic basic software needs ecological chain

“Some domestic basic software products are still very good, but one of the important reasons why they are difficult to promote in banks is the lack of such an ecological chain.” Yu Feng believes that for some local software companies, the gap between their own product functions and foreign countries is not Large, but the follow-up technical support, R & D investment, integrator cooperation is relatively lacking. On the other hand, multinational companies may have hundreds of companies in their surrounding areas for support, including development-driven, post-technical maintenance, and channel cooperation. They have more advantages in marketing than domestic companies.

CCID Consulting's statistics show that as of the end of 2013, the proportion of domestic basic software in the Chinese market was only about 7%. An important reason for this unfavorable situation is that the adaptability and compatibility of domestic basic software for user application systems have yet to be improved. At the same time, third-party application developers and integrators have less knowledge of domestic basic software than mainstream foreign products. That is, the eco-environment of the localization industry is not yet perfect
