On April 26th, Veeco announced that it has trained more than 500 engineers for its customers in its state-of-the-art China Training Center (CTC) in Shanghai. The center is approximately 1,700 meters in size and features a fully equipped computer simulation classroom and a TurboDisc® K465iTM MOCVD equipment for on-board training.
CTC has a comprehensive training program that includes basic training in MOCVD equipment, an introduction to epitaxial growth optimization, and hands-on courses in advanced hardware repair and troubleshooting. CTC opened in 2011 to help major LED chip manufacturers, including two of the largest customers, Sanan Optoelectronics and Dehao Runda, to expand production capacity, optimize the use of MOCVD, and support the rapid development of the entire industry.
Veeco pointed out that between 2010 and 2011, Veeco shipped more than 400 MOCVD machines to Chinese customers, including existing LED chip manufacturers, joint ventures and new companies. It is committed to providing first-class services and products for the future development and success of these manufacturers and companies.
