At present, China's air purifier industry has a total of four national standards, namely GB 4706.45-2008 "Special Requirements for Safe Air Purifiers for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances," and GB 21551.2-2010 "Antimicrobial and sterilizing for household and similar electrical appliances. Special requirements for purification functional antibacterial materials, GB 21551.3-2010 "Special requirements for antibacterial, sterilizing, and purifying air purifiers for household and similar electrical appliances" and GB/T 18801-2008 "Air purifiers". The test method for the new standard is to emphasize that the CADR value is the main indicator for determining the capacity of air purifiers; for the appendix, the test and evaluation methods for the clean air volume CADR are included in the appendix. Controversy focused

For the revision of this national standard, the representatives of air purifiers were very fierce and discussions focused on three aspects. First of all, some companies hope to complete the revision work of GB/T 18801 as soon as possible. It is recommended that at least the transition period between the old and new standards be set aside for the enterprises to handle factory and commercial inventory. Companies with more product models, such as Philips and Sharp, attach particular importance to this.

Secondly, with regard to the revised content of GB/T 18801, the opinions of enterprises mainly focus on the noise, the labeling of the applicable area, and the verification of some test methods. Most companies emphasized the importance of noise indicators for air purifiers and considered it necessary to impose strict requirements on this indicator. Sharp officials pointed out that the current national standards stipulate that the noise standard for products with a CADR value above 450 is 70 dB. “At present, the CADR value of home air purifiers on the market is mainly around 300, but with the change in consumer demand, it is likely that products with CADR values ​​between 600 and 800 or more will occur in the future, and noise values ​​will need to be implemented at that time. Finer divisions to differentiate product performance, or separate provisions for commercial and consumer products."

Regarding the applicable area, some companies proposed that the newly revised GB/T 18801 specifies the recommended algorithm for the applicable area in the appendix, but it does not stipulate whether it must be specified. Some companies think that the revision of the indicator or the new test method proposed in the amendment of GB/T 18801 leaves too little experimental verification time for the company. In such a short period of time, the company cannot confirm the scientificness of the new indicators and test methods. And rationality.

Third, there is controversy over the coordination of national and local standards among air purifiers.
